About The Dietitian

Meghan Murphy Van Camp is a Register Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist who helps students, athletes, and the general public to become more knowledgeable about the benefits of healthy nutrition and establish lifestyle changes that will improve performance, build muscle, help prevent disease, weight maintenance and weight loss.

Prior to becoming a dietitian, Meghan received her Bachelors of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida with Honors. Then Meghan completed her post-graduate internship at Emory University Hospital. After this she moves back to her home town of Orlando, Florida and worked in clinical nutrition and management for 4 years at Orlando Regional Healthcare.

Currently, Meghan specializes in wellness, sports nutrition and renal nutrition and has her own consulting company, Meghan Van Camp Consulting. Meghan practices at a dialysis unit helping clients with end stage renal disease and consults at a Nephrologist’s office helping Medicare patients with chronic renal disease. At University of Central Florida’s Wellness Center, Meghan gives presentations on wellness and nutrition, takes questions during office hours, and teaches weight maintenance program called Shape U. Meghan is also employed at the University of Central Florida’s athletics department helping athletes with performance nutrition. Meghan’s public speaking experiences include regional dietetic association conferences, the national geriatric nurse conference, and countless talks to students at University of Central Florida.

Meghan has also been very active in her profession as Treasurer and President of East Central Dietetic Association. Meghan is a member of the American Dietetic Association, and National Kidney Association. She is also a part of the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionist practice group.
